'Ohana Midwifery Service personalized & comprehensive care includes:

" Prenatal diagnostic testing; " Prenatal exams and education at each stage of pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum period; " Attendance of birth at home, or in the even a hospital transfer is necessary; " Postpartum visits for Mom and Baby within 48 hours, 1 week, and 6 weeks (additional visits may also be warranted depending on circumstances); " Breastfeeding counseling; " Contraceptive counseling; and " Labor support.

A visit, to include an interactive interview, allows you and your partner to ask questions and exchange information with the midwife. During the visit, the midwife will also gather information to make sure that Mom is not at risk for birthing the baby at home.

Birth plans are encouraged. Creating a support network of knowledgeable providers will help the family attain the most positive birth experience. The support network may include childbirth educators, breastfeeding support, and doulas.
